Project Description
‘Safety first’ staircase installation in Sapcote
After an extension, the gap left by removing a wall had been poorly filled trying to match the old balustrade. For safety reasons the client now wanted the handrail to continue through to the top post so some alterations were needed. By installing new posts slightly off centre to the string, the handrail and spindles could pass the adjoining wall. The strings were clad in oak and a new bullnose bottom step fitted. As a final touch the client could put their own stamp on the project by designing custom caps on fluted posts.
